Day 145- Kate Winslet

“Titanic,” which was released in 1997, is the highest-grossing film of all time. Until this movie, actress Kate Winslet was still relatively unknown in the U.S. That changed, however, and today, she is one of the most highly regarded artists in her craft.

Winslet is known for her ballsy attitude and her extraordinary talent for acting. Both are gifts that she is sharing with the world.

If there’s one thing that hasn’t changed for the Academy Award-winner, it’s her personality. Indeed, Winslet remains constant and headstrong, and just as passionate about her work as she was back in 1997. The work she does for charitable causes is no exception. Ms. Winslet is ambassador to Cardboard Citizens, which is “the U.K.’s only homeless people’s professional theatre […] in the U.K.” She’s also a supporter of other organizations in the U.K., including the Helen & Douglas House, which provides hospice care for children and young adults with terminal illnesses.

Kate also contributes to the Afghanistan Relief Organization.

I’m finally starting to catch up on some of the letters I’ve been promising for a while now. I have to strike a balance between blogging and studying, if it’s at all possible. I really appreciate all the support and encouragement I have received from all of you!

Please keep spreading the word, and remember to post the URL of this blog as your Facebook status with a brief explanation, for example: “Please post this as your status in support of children & adults with Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus: https://willyoubemyhero.wordpress.com/”

God Bless,

Laurita 🙂
